How to set up Google Pay™ and Google Wallet™ to work with your Expend card

Updated this week

Google Pay™ is a fast and simple solution for contactless payments. By integrating your Expend card with Google Wallet™, you can now enjoy the convenience of tapping to pay with your smartphone or smartwatch, wherever Google Pay and contactless payments are accepted. This feature not only streamlines your transactions but also ensures fast, secure access for all your business needs.

Setting it up

  1. Log in to the Expend mobile app and tap Cards.

  2. Tap the Add to G Pay button underneath your Expend card.

  3. On the ‘Add payment card’ screen, tap Add to Wallet.

  4. On the next screen, review the information, and then tap Continue.

  5. Review the Issuer terms and tap Accept.

  6. Choose an option to verify your card – by text or email. Tap Continue.
Important: Check that your contact details are correct before completing this step. If they are out of date, please contact our support team via the in-app chat, or via the web dashboard.

  7. Enter your 6-digit verification code in the box provided and tap Continue.

*Please note: it may take up to 30 seconds to receive your 6 digit verification code*

Once processed, you will see a confirmation screen showing that your card has been added to Google Wallet. You can tap the View in Wallet button to view your card in the app, or close the screen to return to Expend.

And that’s it! The Expend app will now show ‘Card added to Google Pay’ underneath your Expend card and you’re ready to start using it.

Contactless payments

Please ensure that your Expend card is active and enabled for contactless transactions.

The card must be fully activated – please see Activating your Expend card for details and the ‘Contactless Transactions’ setting must also be enabled. To check this, tap on Cards in the Expend app, then ⚙️ in the top right corner.

If necessary, you may need to ask your admin to enable contactless transactions for your card.
