Raise an expense from a transaction done with your business Visa card

On the web dashboard

  1. In the dashboard menu, click Transactions.

  2. Find the transaction from which you want to raise an expense.

  3. Click the ··· button on the right, and select Raise new expense.

  4. Select the category and tax type, and optionally provide additional details such as tracking information and a note.

  5. To add attachments such as a copy of the receipt, click the upload area on the right and select the files (or simply drag and drop files here). You can add as many attachments as necessary.

  6. If the transaction included items from different categories or for different clients or projects, you can split the expense into multiple lines: click Add Split and edit the amount and other details for each line. To remove items, click the 🅧 button.

  7. Click Save or Save + Submit.

The new expense report will be listed on the My Expenses page.

In the mobile app

  1. On the Inbox screen, find the transaction from which you want to raise an expense.

    (Alternatively, go to the Cards screen, select the card used for the transaction, and find the transaction from which you want to raise an expense.)

  2. Tap the transaction. The Expense Report screen opens.

  3. Optional: Enter a note in the Description field. Tap the arrowhead below this field to add additional tracking information such as Client, Job Number, and so forth.

  4. To add more items, tap Add Split. To remove items, tap the red 🅧 button.

  5. To add attachments such as a copy of the receipt, tap an empty part of the screen to dismiss the keyboard, then tap and select what you want to attach.

  6. To finish, tap the button in the top right corner and select Save (to save as a draft) or Save & Submit (to submit the expense for review).

The expense report will be listed on the Expenses screen.
