Changing your Expend Visa card PIN

How to change your Expend Visa card’s PIN

You can change your Expend Visa card PIN in the Expend web app. After changing your PIN, it is important to follow the steps described below to finalise the PIN change.

Step 1: Change your PIN in the Expend app

⚠️  Before you start: Ensure that you know your current PIN.

How to get your current PIN

In the Expend web app

  1. In the menu on the left, click Expend Cards.

  2. Go to your Expend card and click Retrieve PIN.

  3. Enter your 2FA verification code (click Request a new OTP code if necessary).

  4. Click Retrieve PIN.

In the Expend mobile app

  1. Tap Cards.

  2. Go to your Expend card.

  3. Tap PIN & Password and select Reveal PIN.

In the Expend web app

  1. In the menu on the left, click Expend Cards.

  2. Go to your Expend Visa card and click the Change PIN button.

  3. Enter your 2FA verification code (click Request a new OTP code if necessary).

  4. Enter and confirm your new PIN, and click the Change PIN button.

In the Expend mobile app

  1. Tap Cards.

  2. Go to your Expend Visa card.

  3. Tap PIN & Password and select Change PIN.

  4. Enter and confirm your new PIN, and then tap Change PIN.

⚠️  Important: You still need your old PIN for the following step.

Step 2: Finalise the change in-store

You need to perform two Chip & PIN payment transactions (where you insert your card into a terminal and enter your PIN) to finalise the change.

  • For the first payment, use your old PIN.

  • For the second payment, use your new PIN.

  • You don‘t need to perform the transactions right after each other, but it is important to do them in the correct order.

  1. At a store, make a Chip & PIN payment and enter your old PIN (the one before you changed it).

    • Please note: If you retrieve your PIN in the Expend app at this point, your old PIN will still be shown.

  2. At a store, make a Chip & PIN payment and enter your new PIN.

    • The PIN change is now complete. If you retrieve your PIN in the Expend app at this point, your new PIN will be shown.
