The item could not be synchronised because there was a problem communicating with Xero's API. This is likely temporary and may be due to maintenance or upgrades being carried out on the Xero infrastructure.

To retry synchronisation, click the Sync button on the expense. It may be necessary to wait for the Xero API to become available again first.
